Connect WhatsApp with the QR code
On your phone, open WhatsApp → Linked devices → Link a device and scan the code in the panel.

Choose the chats
Turn on sync for the chats that may be read, or switch on Sync all conversations.

Add SyncZap to ChatGPT
In ChatGPT, open Settings → Plugins, click Browse directory, then Add → Add custom MCP server. Name it SyncZap, paste the URL below as the Server URL and choose OAuth. On the SyncZap screen, pick the organization and click Allow access.

What to ask ChatGPT

What you need
- A ChatGPT plan that allows custom MCP servers (Plus, Pro, Business or higher). On some accounts, the option shows up after turning on Developer mode in Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced.
- A SyncZap account with WhatsApp connected and your chats chosen.
- To send messages: an owner or admin role and the send option checked during authorization.
Replies with confirmation
When you ask for a reply, ChatGPT drafts the message and shows the recipient and text. It is only sent after your explicit confirmation, with a key that prevents the same message going out twice. Accepted means WhatsApp accepted the message, not that it was delivered or read.
Privacy and control
- Only chats with active sync are recorded, shown and read by assistants.
- Photos, voice notes, videos and documents stay on your phone. When you open an attachment or ask for an AI reading, SyncZap downloads a temporary copy, deleted from the server 24 hours after the download. Transcripts and readings are kept as text.
- Nothing is sent without your confirmation: the assistant shows the recipient and text first. Marking as read and reacting with an emoji are the only actions without confirmation.
- Each organization is isolated, and WhatsApp credentials never leave the sync server.

Is SyncZap an official ChatGPT app?
No. SyncZap is an independent service you add to ChatGPT as a custom MCP server, by URL and with OAuth sign-in. It is not affiliated with OpenAI, WhatsApp or Meta.
Which ChatGPT plan do I need?
A plan that lets you add custom MCP servers: Plus, Pro, Business or higher.
Does ChatGPT see all my chats?
No. It only reaches chats with active sync and receives only the results of the tools it calls. WhatsApp credentials are never sent.
Can ChatGPT send messages from my WhatsApp?
