Connect WhatsApp to Claude with SyncZap: a custom connector with OAuth, your synced chats as context and sending only after you confirm.
Claude works best with context. With SyncZap as a custom connector, Claude looks up the WhatsApp chats your organization syncs and answers from them: who asked for what, what is still pending, what was decided in a group.
The connection works on claude.ai, in the desktop and mobile apps and in Claude Code, through the same remote MCP server and the same OAuth sign-in. There is no key or secret to copy, and each authorization covers one organization you choose.

Connect WhatsApp with the QR code
On your phone, open WhatsApp → Linked devices → Link a device and scan the code in the panel.

Choose the chats
Turn on sync for the chats that may be read, or switch on Sync all conversations.

Add the connector in Claude
In Claude, open Customize → Connectors and click Add custom connector. Name it SyncZap with the URL below, leave Client ID and Secret blank and click Connect. In Team or Enterprise organizations, an Owner may need to allow custom connectors first.

In Claude Code
In the terminal, add the server with the command below. Then, inside Claude Code, run /mcp, pick synczap and Authenticate: the browser opens the SyncZap screen so you can sign in and pick the organization.

Claude receives only the results of the tools it calls, and only from synced chats. Names, messages and captions arrive as third-party data, never as instructions. SyncZap does not use chat content for advertising or to train models.
Privacy and control
- Only chats with active sync are recorded, shown and read by assistants.
- Photos, voice notes, videos and documents stay on your phone. When you open an attachment or ask for an AI reading, SyncZap downloads a temporary copy, deleted from the server 24 hours after the download. Transcripts and readings are kept as text.
- Nothing is sent without your confirmation: the assistant shows the recipient and text first. Marking as read and reacting with an emoji are the only actions without confirmation.
- Each organization is isolated, and WhatsApp credentials never leave the sync server.

Frequently asked questions
Is SyncZap an official Claude connector?
No. It is added as a custom connector and shows up as one in Claude. SyncZap is not affiliated with Anthropic, WhatsApp or Meta.
Does it work in Claude Code?
Yes. Add the server with claude mcp add and authenticate with /mcp. The same server works for claude.ai, the apps and Claude Code.
Can Claude send messages?
It can draft and, after you confirm, send. Sending requires an owner or admin role and the send option checked when connecting.
Can Claude listen to voice notes?
SyncZap transcribes the voice note and hands the text to Claude, on plans with media AI, from Pro up, and during the trial.
Can I use more than one organization?
Each authorization covers one organization. To switch, disconnect SyncZap in Claude and connect again, choosing the other organization.
