WhatsApp sync for your AI assistant, chat by chat
Sync the WhatsApp chats you choose and look them up in ChatGPT, Claude and the SyncZap panel. Media is fetched on demand and deleted after 24 hours.
In SyncZap, syncing WhatsApp means recording, in real time, the text of the chats you chose, so the panel and the AI assistants you authorize can look that history up. Chats without active sync are not recorded, shown or read by anyone.
Sync starts as soon as the number is connected with the QR code and runs on the server, even with your browser closed. Older messages come from the history the phone itself sends to the linked device, within the plan limit: up to 1,000 older messages on Plus and Pro, and all the history the phone has from Max up.

Connect WhatsApp with the QR code
On your phone, open WhatsApp → Linked devices → Link a device and scan the code in the panel.

Choose the chats
Turn on sync for the chats that may be read, or switch on Sync all conversations.

Look it up in the panel or your AI
Synced chats show up in the SyncZap panel. To look them up in ChatGPT, Claude or another MCP client, add a custom connector with the URL below and authorize with OAuth.

Three ways to choose what is saved
- All chats: an owner or admin turns on Sync all conversations, and new and existing chats start being recorded. WhatsApp's system feeds stay out.
- All except the people you exclude: useful to keep personal chats out.
- Only a chosen list: turn sync on chat by chat.
- Groups have their own on/off switch, on every plan.
Stop and delete whenever you want
Turning off sync for a chat stops recording, and what was already saved is no longer shown or read by assistants. The Delete everything button immediately removes the number's saved messages and temporary file copies, while WhatsApp stays connected. None of this deletes messages from your phone.
Teams and several numbers
Invite admins and readers to the organization; each one signs in with their own account. On the Business plan, up to 5 WhatsApp numbers can be synced in the same organization, and assistants name the number in each request.
Privacy and control
- Only chats with active sync are recorded, shown and read by assistants.
- Photos, voice notes, videos and documents stay on your phone. When you open an attachment or ask for an AI reading, SyncZap downloads a temporary copy, deleted from the server 24 hours after the download. Transcripts and readings are kept as text.
- Nothing is sent without your confirmation: the assistant shows the recipient and text first. Marking as read and reacting with an emoji are the only actions without confirmation.
- Each organization is isolated, and WhatsApp credentials never leave the sync server.

Frequently asked questions
Does syncing WhatsApp delete anything from my phone?
No. SyncZap records a copy of the text of the chats you turn on. Nothing is deleted from your phone, not even when you use Delete everything in the panel.
Are older messages synced too?
Yes, within what the phone sends to the linked device and the plan limit: up to 1,000 older messages on Plus and Pro, and all available history from Max up.
Are groups synced?
If you want them to be. Groups have their own on/off switch, on every plan.
Can I sync more than one number?
On Plus, Pro and Max, each organization connects one number. Business allows up to 5 numbers in the same organization.
What if the phone gets unlinked?
In Connections, click Connect WhatsApp and scan a new QR code. The messages already recorded stay in SyncZap.
Who can see what was synced?
Only the organization's members and the assistants you authorize. Each organization has its own database and WhatsApp session.
