SyncZap vs WhatSync: two hosted WhatsApp MCP servers, compared
By Patrick Alex, CEO of SyncZap · Published
SyncZap and WhatSync do the same core job: they link your WhatsApp as a device and let ChatGPT, Claude and other MCP clients read, search and reply to your chats over OAuth, with confirmation before sending. WhatSync supports more AI clients out of the box and adds an official Business API tier with campaigns; SyncZap offers monthly billing, local-currency pricing in Brazil, a 7-day free trial and finer control over which chats are saved. Details below, checked on November 1, 2026.
Disclosure: this page is written by SyncZap, so read it as a vendor comparison. We only state what WhatSync publishes on its own site, with links, and mark what we could not verify. If something is out of date, write to support@synczap.ai and we will correct it.
The short version
- Choose WhatSync if you want one connector for many AI apps (it lists ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Cursor, Grok, Manus and Codex), group administration and campaign tools, or the official WhatsApp Business API on the same product.
- Choose SyncZap if you pay in Brazilian reais or prefer monthly billing, want to try everything free for 7 days, need to choose chat by chat what is saved, want media deleted 24 hours after download, or want voice-note transcripts delivered automatically.
- Both are hosted remote MCP servers with OAuth, so both work in ChatGPT and Claude without running anything on your computer.

Pricing
WhatSync lists its prices in US dollars, per month billed yearly, and notes that Brazilian cards may pay IOF on top. We did not find monthly-billing prices or a free trial on its pricing page. SyncZap bills monthly or yearly (about 20% less), in reais in Brazil and in dollars elsewhere, after a 7-day free trial with every feature.
| Tier | SyncZap | WhatSync |
|---|---|---|
| Entry (Plus) | $8/mo yearly, $10 monthly | $15/mo yearly |
| Voice and images (Pro) | $14.99/mo yearly, $18.99 monthly | $23/mo yearly |
| Full history, API (Max) | $22.39/mo yearly, $27.99 monthly | $39/mo yearly |
| Business | $42.99/mo yearly, $53.99 monthly | $63/mo yearly, Meta fees separate |
Plan names match, but limits differ: compare the tier you need on SyncZap's pricing page and WhatSync's. Prices change; the sources section has the date we checked.
Privacy and control
Both products separate the WhatsApp connection from the access given to AI apps and let you revoke either. SyncZap adds three controls we think matter for business use: sync can be all chats, all except the ones you exclude, or only a list, so personal chats stay out; photos, voice notes and documents are never stored by default and temporary copies are deleted 24 hours after download; and the Delete everything button removes saved messages without touching your phone. - 4
Replace the connector
In ChatGPT or Claude, add the SyncZap MCP URL as a custom connector with OAuth and remove the old one when you are happy.
https://synczap.ai/mcpFrequently asked questions
Is SyncZap a WhatSync alternative?
Yes. Both are hosted WhatsApp MCP servers for ChatGPT and Claude. SyncZap differs in monthly billing, BRL pricing, a 7-day trial, chat-level sync control, 24-hour media deletion and automatic transcript delivery.
Can I use both at the same time?
WhatsApp allows several linked devices, so you can link both while you compare. Remove the connector you do not keep from your AI app and unlink its device on the phone.
Does either use the official WhatsApp API?
SyncZap does not; it is a linked device. WhatSync uses a linked device too, and offers the official Business API on its Business plan.
Is SyncZap affiliated with WhatSync?
No. They are independent companies. WhatSync was one of the products we studied when designing SyncZap's connection and revocation flows; no code or service of WhatSync is used.
