How to use it
- 1Choose the default country. It is used for numbers written without a country code. Numbers starting with + or 00 keep their own code.
- 2Paste the list. One number per line, or separated by commas or semicolons. Brackets, spaces and dashes are ignored.
- 3Check and export. Each row shows the E.164 number, the wa.me link and what was changed, or why the number was rejected. Download the CSV or copy the E.164 list.
- Brazil: the area code (DDD) is checked against the national list; 8-digit numbers starting with 6–9 are old mobiles and get the 9; 8-digit numbers starting with 2–5 are landlines; a leading 0 and carrier selection codes are removed.
- Other countries are only checked for length (8 to 15 digits, the E.164 limit) and a known country code, not against each country's numbering plan.
- The tool formats numbers; it does not check whether a number has WhatsApp, and it does not send anything.
Frequently asked questions
What is E.164?
The international phone format: a +, the country code and the national number, with no spaces, up to 15 digits. It is what most CRMs and messaging APIs expect.
Why was the 9 added to some Brazilian numbers?
Since 2016 every Brazilian mobile number has nine digits starting with 9. Old 8-digit mobiles written without it get it added so the link opens the right chat.
Will the CSV open correctly in Excel or Google Sheets?
Pick the separator your spreadsheet expects: comma for Google Sheets and English Excel, semicolon for Excel set to Portuguese or most European languages. The file is UTF-8 with a byte-order mark, and values a spreadsheet could run as a formula get a leading apostrophe.
Are my contacts uploaded?
No. The list is processed and the CSV is created in your browser.
