WhatsApp text formatter
Write your message, select a part and apply bold, italic, strikethrough, monospace, inline code, lists or a quote using WhatsApp's own symbols. The preview shows it in a chat bubble; copy it and paste it into WhatsApp.
Runs 100% in your browser: no account, no upload. Nothing you type or open in this tool is sent to any server.

How to use it
- 1Type or paste your text. A sample message is already there so you can see how it works.
- 2Select and format. Select words or lines and click a button. Bold, italic and strikethrough are applied line by line, because WhatsApp marks do not cross line breaks.
- 3Check the bubble and copy. The preview follows WhatsApp's rules: a mark only works when it touches the text, like *this*. Then copy and paste into the chat.
- The formatting is plain symbols in the text, so it also works when pasted into WhatsApp Web, the desktop app or a wa.me link message.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my *bold* not work in WhatsApp?
The symbol must touch the word on the inside (*word*, not * word *) and must not sit in the middle of a word. The preview applies the same rule, so what renders here should render there.
Which symbols does WhatsApp use?
*bold*, _italic_, ~strikethrough~, three backticks for monospace, one backtick for inline code, a hyphen and space for lists, a number and dot for numbered lists, and > with a space for quotes.
Can I combine styles?
Yes, by nesting the symbols, for example *_bold italic_*.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Formatting and preview happen in your browser.
